Within the next few
weeks, Palm will release a version of its Treo with GPS

On October 13,
Palm unveiled a version of their Treo with GPS.
It is a slimmer
version of the Treo line of
smart phones with the capabilities to
access GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks.
It will also include

an integrated
camcorder,

digital camera,
-
video player,
-
MP3 player,
-
with 64Mkb of memory
-
the ability to store
up to 2 gigs in music and/or video on a separate card.
The Treo 680 also
has
-
an internal antenna,
-
slimmer size than
previous Treos, full-size keyboard,
-
320 by 320-pixel
color screen.
-
a Voice Memo application that
allows you to set what you record as a ringtone
Its GSM/GPRS radio is also quad-band
(850/900/1800/1900), making it a world phone.

The Treo 680 will
come in four colors – red, orange, silver and grey - officially crimson, copper,
arctic, graphite, and will be competitively priced.

China-based Amoi Electronics
Company, Ltd. has started
shipping production quantities of six of the company's
next-generation smart phones and feature phones.
The phones are powered by the Agere Systems Vision(TM) X115
chip set platform.This enables the Amoi phones to be smaller, more
affordable and yet have many of the features of higher priced
smart phones.
Amoi's new phones have CD quality sound, QVGA resolution (QVGA is
a common size for high-resolution phone displays).
